DESCRIPTION OF PRACTICE

Upon graduation from law school, Harlan served as law clerk for the Hon. Edwin L. Nelson, United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama for the 1994-1995 term. He then joined the law firm of Burr & Forman, LLP in Birmingham, where he became a partner in 2001. In November 2004, Harlan co-founded the law firm of Battle Fleenor Green Winn & Clemmer LLP. His practice continues to focus on fraud and business litigation, with an emphasis in the areas of financial services and insurance, as well as personal injury. His clients have included and continue to include individuals and privately held companies as well as publicly traded financial institutions. Harlan actively represents these clients as plaintiffs and defendants in cases in federal and state courts across the country. He has served both as class counsel and lead defense counsel in state and nationwide class action cases involving private and publicly traded companies. Similarly, Harlan has represented and continues to represent both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury and wrongful death cases. Harlan is licensed to practice in the state courts of Alabama and Mississippi, the federal district courts in Alabama and the Fifth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal.
