After receiving his law degree, Bob served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ira DeMent, United States District Judge for the Middle District of Alabama for the 1995-96 term. Bob joined the law firm of Burr & Forman LLP in 1996, where he became a partner in 2002. In November 2004, Bob, along with four other former Burr & Forman lawyers, founded Battle Fleenor Green Winn & Clemmer LLP. Bob's practice has focused primarily on commercial litigation, with experience in personal injury, governmental and employment cases as well. In 1998, Bob co-authored an article entitled Qualified Immunity for Governmental Officials under Section 1983 which was published by the American Bar Association Young Lawyers' Division in its Litigation Committee Newsletter. In 2002, Bob was appointed as a deputy Attorney General for the State of Alabama Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation to manage the defense of ten wrongful death and personal injury cases filed against the Department, its Commissioner, and its employees. Bob is licensed to practice in Alabama state and federal courts.

Bob was born in Gadsden, Alabama on February 26, 1970. Bob grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and graduated from Huntsville High School. He is married to Brooke Tanner Battle. Brooke and Bob have two daughters.
